68 Training and Capacity Building: In line with the UAE Vision 2021, which aims to build a strong knowledge-based economy, the enhancement of the capacity and capabilities of human capital in the emirate is a top priority for the SCTDA, in order to reinforce the role of human resources and empower them through providing training courses and organizing specialized workshops. Professional Training (Marhabtain Program) Marhabtain Program consists of three main pillars: Hospitality Development training programs Tourism skills enhancement Tourism community education training programs 1. Hospitality development training programs target: - Executive level - Middle level managers - Introductory 2. Tourism Skills enhancement This pillar focuses on training tourist guides and enhancing their skills, in order to increase the number of national guides in particular. Tourist Guide Refresher course This program aims to update information for candidates wishing to renew their Sharjah Tourist Guide License. The program covers various topics aiming to enhance the knowledge and skills of tourist guides in Sharjah. It also aims to equip tourist guides with necessary information on emerging topics in the tourism industry and develop tourism attraction methods through innovation and renewal of tourism services, and presentation to visitors.
