86 Tourism Sector in Sharjah: The Sharjah Government, represented by the SCTDA and its partners from the government and the private sector, are making tremendous efforts to develop the tourism sector in the emirate and expand its scope of work. The authority is taking advantage of the plentiful archaeological, heritage, cultural sites and museums, in addition to the natural beauty of the emirate and the beautiful landscapes; including valleys, mangroves, beaches and mountains, as well as the emirate’s warm weather throughout the year and its proximity to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE. All this directly contributes to strengthening Sharjah’s tourist position as one of the best tourist destinations in the world. The authority also devises many methods and ways to improve the overall experience of tourism and customer service, by developing the city’s infrastructure, including the marine infrastructure, airports, destinations and facilities, as well as housing infrastructure, to international levels. In addition to expanding the scope of events, providing high-quality tourism standards and services through cooperative partnerships and building the capabilities of the workforce. With the increase in income earmarked for tourism spending by citizens, residents and regional and international tourists, accurate indicators and studies indicate a high rate of visits to the emirate, which will directly contribute to the development of the tourism sector in Sharjah and the UAE in general.
