C. Future Outlook The tourism industry is one of the four largest investment channels in the emirate of Sharjah. It is expected that the tourism industry, in addition to the industrial and construction sectors, will lead the emirate’s future economic growth. Due to the importance of this industry, Sharjah has launched multi-track initiatives aimed at supporting the emirate to continue its continuous economic growth. Therefore, tremendous efforts are underway to develop and modernize the infrastructure and the telecommunications system in the UAE, in addition to strengthening the entire ecosystem of the tourism industry in the country.
