c- SCTDA Specializations & Services - Cooperate with competent authorities to promote tourism and traditional sites in the emirate of Sharjah. - Organize entertainment activities and provide facilities and services for tourists. - Support and empower the status of Sharjah as a distinctive family, cultural and historical destination. - Distribute publications and organize tours to familiarize visitors with Sharjah’s tourism attractions. - Ensure the continuity of sustainable commercial development in the tourism sector in order to attract foreign investments and increase the number of visitors and tourists, leading to the enhancement of the hotel and real estate services sector. - Issue preliminary approvals for investors in the hotel sector to manage and operate hotel facilities. - Issue preliminary approvals for licenses related to organizing and holding tours. - Classify hotel facilities and apartment and tourism resorts. - Undertake monitoring and inspection rounds for tourism facilities to ensure their quality and their adherence to the SCTDA’s regulations and standards. - Issue approvals for desert transportation vehicles and ensure their full compliance with the law and SCTDA regulations for entering desert areas in Sharjah. - Provide tourism instruction and training for tourism staff. 21 21 Annual Report - 2019 The Story of a Year
